World’s Largest Photovoltaic Solar Power Farm

The world’s largest photovoltaic solar power farm has opened in Jumilla, southern Spain. This solar power farm is said to have an installed peak power capacity of 20 megawatts. This is 6 megawatts more than the one at Nevada.
The farm can produce an annual energy output that is enough to support 20,000 homes. It is also expected that carbon dioxide emission will be reduced by 42,000 tons yearly.

Using a renewable energy and also reducing CO2 emissions are definitely something good for the environment. But the irony is, how many trees have been killed in order to build this solar farm? Its looks like the flatten the hill and did some major construction over there. Nevertheless the farm has already been built and what awaits us is the energy generated to power the 20,000 homes.
