Since the introduction of the Asus Ecobook last year, Asus has been researching on more products that could make use of bamboo as part of its material. Now a whole new range of Bamboo products were unveiled at the CeBIT 2008 expo in Germany.

These products include bamboo laptops, a bamboo monitor and a bamboo-coated PC called the Essentio 5110. The design of these products actually looks very cool. Some of you may not like these bamboo stuffs but they look nice to me.

What is most important is not the design of the product, it is the purpose behind in creating these eco-friendly products. Some may think that by cutting Bamboo to use as a material for products, it will be detrimental to the wildlife and environment. Although Bamboo is a plant, they will continue to grow back fast after being cut. Hence, this is also a reason why bamboo is chosen as a staple material for companies producing eco-friendly products.

Hope more companies can follow Asus and be creative and also protect our environment from further damage.
