World’s First Illuminating Glass

On Inhabitat’s web, we were shown the pictures of Saazs’ light-emitting glass plates. These glass plates are the world’s first light-emitting glass plates. They can be integrated into tables, shelves, cupboards and essentially just about anything you want.
I was captivated by the design of the plates. It was elegant and had an artistic feel to it. By looking at the pictures, I’m sure you will feel too that its a masterpiece.

Aside from the appearance, these plates are designed to be eco-friendly too. The improvements are delivered in part by the non-toxic gas employed which is a significant improvement over the mercury-infused gas of neon bulbs. Also, the average lifespan of a glass plate is 50,000 hours, which translates to 20 years of domestic use. And since it is made up of glass, almost all its components can be recycled when it cease to function.
Although its energy efficiency cannot be compared to other but it elegant design is unparalleled.

I don’t mean to be too in your face, but I’m not sure I agree with this. Anyhow, thanks for sharing and I think I’ll come to this blog more often.
